PloverCRM provides five note types to categorize interactions. Each has a distinct color badge for quick identification.
Note Types #
1. Call (Blue Badge) #
Use for: Phone calls, voicemails, conference calls
Example:
Title: Discovery <span class="hljs-built_in">Call</span> - <span class="hljs-number">15</span> minutes
Description: Discussed budget <span class="hljs-literal">and</span> timeline. Needs manager approval.
<span class="hljs-keyword">Next</span> <span class="hljs-keyword">step</span>: Follow up Friday.
2. Email (Purple Badge) #
Use for: Emails sent/received, campaign responses, document sharing
Example:
Title: Proposal Sent
Description: Sent Enterprise plan proposal with pricing <span class="hljs-keyword">and</span> <span class="hljs-keyword">case</span> studies.
Awaiting response by <span class="hljs-keyword">end</span> <span class="hljs-keyword">of</span> week.
3. Meeting (Green Badge) #
Use for: In-person meetings, video conferences, product demos
Example:

<span class="hljs-string">Description:</span> Demonstrated key features. <span class="hljs-string">Action:</span> Send technical docs.
4. Task (Orange Badge) #
Use for: Action items, follow-up reminders, pending tasks
Example:

5. Note (Gray Badge) #
Use for: General observations, contact preferences, background info
Example:

Filtering by Type #
- Navigate to contact detail page
- Click Notes tab
- Use Type filter dropdown
- Select one or more types

Best Practices #
- Use descriptive titles: “Discovery Call – Discussed Budget” not “Call”
- Include key details: what happened, outcomes, next steps
- Be consistent: Train team on when to use each type
