Control field display order for better data entry flow.
Reordering Methods #
Drag and Drop #
- Navigate to PloverCRM → Settings → PloverCRM
- Scroll to Custom Fields section
- Click and hold drag handle (⋮⋮) next to field
- Drag to new position and release
- Saves automatically

Manual Order Numbers #
- Edit the field
- Enter number in Order field (lower = first)
- Save
Tip: Use increments of 10 (10, 20, 30) for easier insertion later.
Where Order Applies #
Field order affects contact forms, API responses, mobile app, and CSV exports.
Within Groups: Fields are ordered within their assigned group. Group order determines which group appears first.
Best Practices #
Logical flow:
- Identification (name, email, phone)
- Company info (company, title, industry)
- Location (address, city, state)
- Additional fields
Frequency: Place frequently used fields first, rarely used at bottom
Required fields: Place near top, end with optional fields

Common Patterns #
Sales: Contact Name → Email → Phone → Company → Industry → Deal Size → Lead Source
Support: Contact Name → Email → Phone → Issue Type → Priority → Product → Account Number
Events: First Name → Last Name → Email → Phone → Company → Job Title → Dietary Restrictions
Troubleshooting #
Drag not working: Check console errors, try different browser, disable extensions
Order not saving: Verify Super Admin role, try manual order numbers, clear cache
Wrong order: Refresh (Ctrl+F5), check if fields in different groups
