Prerequisites #
create_contactspermission- Know your unique identifier field (email, phone, or custom field)
Creating a Contact #
Navigate to PloverCRM → Contacts → Add New

Required Information #
Enter the unique identifier field (default: email):

<span class="hljs-attribute">Phone</span>: +<span class="hljs-number">1</span>-<span class="hljs-number">555</span>-<span class="hljs-number">0123</span> (if configured as identifier)

Standard Fields #
- Personal: First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone
- Address: City, State, Country, Postal Code
Optional Fields #
- Custom Fields: Appear in groups (Business Info, Personal Details)
- Lists/Tags: Select lists, add tags (e.g., “VIP”, “Hot Lead”)
- Stage: Lead, Prospect, Customer, etc.
- Owner: Auto-assigned to you (change in Contact Owner metabox)
- Note: Add initial context

Save #
Click Publish. Success indicators:
- “Contact published” message
- Redirected to contact detail page

Validation #
Duplicate Handling:
- PloverCRM: Updates existing contact
- FluentCRM: Shows “Email already exists” error
Email Format:
- Valid:

Permissions #
- Super Admin: All fields
- CRM Manager: Most fields, some restrictions
- CRM Agent: Basic fields only
Grayed fields = no edit permission.
Best Practices #
- Use consistent formatting (phone:
+1-555-0123, names: Proper Case) - Assign lists/tags immediately for segmentation
- Add notes for context
- Shortcuts: Tab (next field), Ctrl/Cmd+S (save)
